The Kleshas A New Moon Journey of Awareness, Alchemy & Intention

🗓️ Sun, September 13, 2026

05:00PM, w/ Sylvie

Yoga invites us not only to move the body, but to explore the patterns that shape how we experience ourselves and the world around us.

Join Sylvie for a 90-minute New Moon journey exploring the Five Kleshas—the obstacles described in yogic philosophy that can cloud our perception and influence our thoughts, patterns, and behaviors.

Through gentle movement, breathwork, meditation, guided reflection, and journaling, we’ll explore these ancient teachings with curiosity and awareness, creating space to recognize what is present and what may be ready for transformation.

The experience concludes with a New Moon Fire Ceremony, transforming intention into ritual. Through the ancient symbolism of fire and alchemy, we’ll offer our Sankalpa—a heartfelt intention or sacred resolve—to the flame, symbolically planting the seeds of what we wish to call forward and manifest in the new lunar cycle.

No prior knowledge of yoga philosophy is needed. All levels are welcome.

Two years of The Loft. Two years of movement, stillness, breath, connection, and most importantly, community.

As we celebrate our second anniversary and step into a new season, we’re taking a moment to honor everything that has brought us here and to create space for what’s ahead.

This next year at The Loft, you can expect even more intention around the things that have always been at the heart of this space: community, movement, breath, connection, and stillness. More opportunities to gather, to slow down, to reconnect, and simply be together.

Join us Sunday, September 20, immediately following our 10:00 AM class, with the celebration beginning around 11:00 to 11:15 AM.

Take class and stay afterward, come just for the celebration, or join us for it all. We simply want you here to celebrate this beautiful community with us.

More details are coming soon. For now, save the date. 🤍

Two years of The Loft, and we’re just getting started.

Mat Chat for Teachers & Practitioners

🗓️ Sunday, June 07, 2026

03:00PM, w/ Nicole & Whitney

Mat Chat is a casual, heart-centered group for yoga teachers, teacher wannabes, and longtime practitioners to connect, share, and grow together. Think of it as a cozy community hangout—part conversation, part practice support group, part inspiration session.

Each gathering will have a simple theme to guide the discussion—something like finding your voice, navigating burnout, the asanas of yoga, or reconnecting to your personal practice. Our first session will be more organizational: setting intentions, choosing themes that matter most to the group, and shaping how we want Mat Chat to flow.

We’ll keep it intimate so everyone has space to speak and feel seen—8 to 12 people is a sweet spot (enough voices for rich conversation, but small enough for authenticity and connection). Bring your questions about anything yoga, insights, and an open heart—sometimes we’ll dig deep, other times we’ll simply laugh and swap stories from life on the mat.

Join Nicole & Whitney for the conversations!

Creative Stillness: Art, Movement, & Meditation

🗓️ Saturday, May 30, 2026

3:00pm, 90 minutes, w/ Ann

Join Ann for a 90-minute intentional journey inward, blending creative expression, mindful movement, breathwork, and meditation to support a deeper connection to your practice both on and off the mat.

We’ll begin with 30 minutes of guided art-making. Each participant will receive a decorative box and be invited to fill it with words, intentions, and reflections. This creative process offers space to explore where your practice is now, where you’d like it to grow, and what you may be ready to release or carry with more clarity.

From there, Ann will guide you into 40 minutes of mindful movement, flowing through classic salutations into a slow, intentional sequence. Expect a beautiful balance of fluid transitions and steady holds in standing postures to build strength, awareness, and grounding.

The final portion will be dedicated to meditation and breathwork. You’ll be offered different approaches to stillness, allowing you to choose what feels most supportive for you.

Kundalini Yoga & Meditation

🗓️ Tuesday, May 5, 2026

10:30am, 60 minutes, w/ Elizabeth Bogart

In celebration of Member Appreciation Month... Join us for a special Kundalini Yoga & Meditation class with guest teacher, Elizabeth Bogart.

Kundalini Yoga is a unique combination of movement (called a kriya), breathing techniques (pranayama), mantra (chanting), and meditation with mudra (hand postures). Each kriya works like a recipe to reset, regulate, and balance your nervous system. Each meditation is a unique combination of mantra, mudra, and eye gaze that plays the body like an instrument. There are thousands of different kriyas that have their own effect on the body. We'll be practicing a gentle, heart-opening kriya and indulging in a delicious chant-out-loud meditation aligned to Taurus Season. We'll chat a little bit about how the water of the body is impacted by music, mantra, and singing -- and how we can use the power of our own voice to promote cellular healing. It's best understood by experiencing it, so come try it.

If you have the time after class, stick around for an informal Kundalini Q & A and a chance to pull Oracle Cards (just for fun).

Elizabeth’s Bio:

Elizabeth Bogart is a Kundalini Yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Elizabeth has been teaching/practicing this style of yoga for over 15 years and affectionately describes this practice as "putting yourself in the washing machine" in a good way. She first stumbled upon this practice by accident when living in India, and quickly fell in love with how sparkly, powerful, clear & connected she felt after each class. She also teaches kids yoga, prenatal yoga, and yoga nidra. She recently self-published a book of meditation for individuals and families preparing to conceive which includes kundalini meditations and other mini-self care practices "to help mother yourself as you prepare for motherhood." She regularly comes to Wake Forest to visit brother's family and is delighted to be teaching at The Yoga Loft during Member's Appreciation Month. IG @eb_heartwork
